10 Things I’m Loving This September
September always makes me want to reinvent myself a little.
The candles come out, my music gets softer, my clothes get cozier, and suddenly I’m romanticizing my entire life again. Maybe it’s the weather changing. Maybe it’s getting older. Or maybe I’ve finally realized that the little things really do matter.
I’m 25, I’m a mom of two, and if there’s one thing motherhood has taught me, it’s that you have to make time for the things that actually fill your cup.
When I was younger, I took that feeling for granted. I’d wear things I didn’t love, use scents that weren’t really me, make plans I didn’t want to make and convince myself I’d eventually “figure it out.”
I don’t really want to do that anymore.
I want my life to actually feel like mine.
So, in honour of entering my cozy, slightly obsessive September era, here are 10 things I’m loving right now.
01. Pumpkin Spice Candles, Obviously
My house currently smells like fall at all times.
Pumpkin spice, apple, cinnamon, anything warm and sweet. And before you assume I’m spending $40 on some luxury candle, absolutely not.
Walmart and the dollar store, babyyyy.
I usually spend $5–$8 and leave them going all day.
There’s something about walking into a room that smells like fall that instantly puts me in a better mood. The kids could be making a complete mess, my coffee could be cold and I could have 15 emails waiting for me, but at least my house smells good.
Sometimes that’s enough.

02. My New Fall Lokay Set
I’ve been working with Lokay on content + social media management for the last few months, and their new fall set might be my favourite one yet.
It’s soft, warm, cozy and hugs you in all the right places.
Normally, I’m a pajama girl at home. I have a six month old and a three year old, so getting dressed just to have someone immediately wipe food, spit or a booger on me doesn’t exactly feel worth it.
But this set feels like pajamas without looking like pajamas.
The texture is almost velvet like, it’s ridiculously soft, and yes, it has little pockets.
And the way it hugs the bum?
We love her.
I’ll leave the link here because if you’re looking for a new fall set, this is it.

03. I’m Back in My Housewives Era
I don’t know what happened, but somehow I’m rewatching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules again.
And honestly, I’m not mad about it.
There’s something about older reality TV that just hits differently. It feels messier, funnier and a little more real.
I haven’t really been into Love Island or newer reality shows lately. Maybe I’m nostalgic, but give me a completely unnecessary Housewives argument that somehow lasts three episodes and I’m entertained.
Sometimes you don’t need personal development.
Sometimes you need reality TV.
04. Maple Chai Is My September Personality
I’ve been drinking maple chai tea basically every chance I get.
It’s warm, sweet and spicy without being aggressively pumpkin flavoured.
I make one while the kids are napping, sit at my computer and pretend I’m about to have a very productive afternoon.
Sometimes I actually do.
Sometimes I scroll.
Either way, the chai is good.

05. My Music Has Gotten a Little Sad
My music always changes when the seasons do.
Right now I’m listening to a lot more folk and indie music. Softer songs, slower songs, slightly sad songs.
The kind of music that makes you stare out the window for no reason.
I’ve made a little September playlist for you too, because obviously I need you to experience the exact mood I’m currently living in.
Put it on while you’re getting ready, driving, cleaning your house or lying in bed pretending you’re not going to check your phone for the next hour.
06. B.Y.N.G Oil Has My Skin Glowing
The weather is changing, which means my skin has officially decided to become dramatic.
I’ve been using B.Y.N.G oil lately and my skin has been so soft and glowy.
I also love that they’re women-made and based in Vancouver, Canada.
I’ve been reaching for it during this transition into cooler weather, especially when my skin needs a little extra moisture.
Basically, I’m trying to look hydrated even when I’m running on questionable amounts of sleep.
I’ll link it here.

07. S’more Brownies Are Becoming a Problem
I made s’more brownies and now I’m emotionally attached.
Warm brownie. Melted marshmallow. Toasty top.
Need I say more?
We always have some kind of sweet treat in our house, but there’s something about a warm s’more brownie that feels extra special.
Light the candles. Turn on the orange lights. Put on something trashy.
And eat the brownie.
This is self care.
08. I’ve Become a Body Scrub Person
I recently found the Dove Crumble body scrub at Walmart and have been using it with my vanilla Athena body wash.
And wow.
She smells good.
The combination is warm, sweet and so ridiculously cozy.
I’ve also noticed my skin feels so soft after using it, which makes getting out of the shower and putting on clean pajamas feel like a full personality reset.
There are few things better than a long, warm shower when you’ve had a long day.
Especially when everyone else is finally quiet.

09. Jasmine, Even Though It’s Not a Fall Scent
One of the brands I’ve been creating content for lately is Vaelor, and they recently sent me a bunch of their essential oils to try.
There are a few scents I’ve been loving, but jasmine has definitely been one of my favourites.
Is jasmine technically a fall scent?
No.
Am I going to stop using it?
Absolutely not.
I keep my diffuser right beside my computer and put it on while I’m working, cleaning or just hanging around the house.
Jasmine smells like abundance to me. It’s feminine, warm and makes the entire room feel different without being overpowering.
Sometimes I’ll be sitting at my computer working, catch the scent and think,
Okay... life is actually kind of nice.
And honestly, that’s exactly the kind of feeling I want around me.

10. Barbie Movies With My Kids
This one has been my favourite.
I’ve been rewatching all the old Barbie movies with my kids, and it is genuinely such a weird feeling.
I remember watching these movies when I was little.
Now I’m sitting on the couch watching them with my own kids.
It feels like someone opened a little time capsule from my childhood.
We put on a Barbie movie, turn on the orange mood lights, light the candles and usually have brownies nearby.
And for a little while, I get to be 10 again.
Except now I’m 25, I have two kids, a million responsibilities and a phone that refuses to stop buzzing.
Still, I think there’s something really beautiful about getting to share pieces of your childhood with your kids.

September, I’m Ready.
Maybe that’s what I’m realizing as I get older.
I don’t need to completely reinvent myself every season.
I just need to pay attention to what makes me feel like me.
The clothes I actually feel good in.
The scents I actually love.
The music I actually want to listen to.
The people I actually want around.
The little rituals that make an ordinary day feel a little more special.
I spent a lot of time when I was younger waiting to become the person I thought I was supposed to be.
Now I’m much more interested in becoming the person I actually am.
So yes, I’m lighting the $6 candle.
I’m rewatching Housewives.
I’m wearing the set that makes my ass look good.
I’m drinking my maple chai.
And I’m eating the brownie.
Happy September.
Let’s romanticize it.
